Important News about RiverFest on the Deschutes
Maupin's signature community event.

After six years of conducting a quality, successful family friendly event, we are announcing two significant changes that will enable RiverFest to grow for years to come.

First we are merging with the Maupin Area Chamber of Commerce. This strategic alliance will "institutionalize" RiverFest so that the responsibility for planning, conducting and sustaining this event will rest with a formal, funded and staffed organization (rather than a few dedicated folks).

Secondly, in reponse to many of our business sponsors, we will be changing the date from Fall to a Spring event. RiverFest 2013 will happen on Saturday, May 25th (Memorial Day Weekend). This date change has enable RiverFest to develop into a weekend long event with many new activity options. A Spring date is also more beneficial to our sponsors for marketing purposes.

To accomplish these two significant changes, we will not have a RiverFest in September 2011. The additional time will be used to smoothly merge the two organizations so that RiverFest 2012 and beyond is a sucess. We will also use our stakeholder mailing list to communicate important developments. We'll also have a revised website up and running, maupinriverfest.com
